Headline: Another record year for Canon
2004 – Tokyo (JPN): Canon has reported record net profit for the fourth year running, with income up by 45%. Boosted by strong digital camera sales and manufacturing cost-cutting, the group posted profit of Y275.73 billion ($2.6 billion) for 2003 compared to Y190.74 billion in 2002. Group revenue jumped almost 9% to Y3.198 trillion.
This year, Canon expects digital camera sales to hit 15 million units, compared to 8.6 million units in 2003.
