Brother Joins Mopria Alliance, Introduces First Mopria-certified Printers

Brother has announced it is now an executive member of the Mopria Alliance, a global association of technology companies which was launched in September 2013 by Canon, HP, Samsung Electronics and Xerox. The Alliance’s objective is to work towards the goal of providing simple wireless printing from smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices.

Brother is further reaffirming its commitment to this industry-wide printing standard by introducing its first Mopria-certified printers and all-in-ones: the HL-L8250CDN, HL-L8350CDW, HL-L8350CDWT, HL-L9200CDW, MFC-L8600CDW, MFC-L8850CDW, and MFC-L9550CDW.

Once users have downloaded and installed the latest device firmware from the Brother Solutions Center, and downloaded Mopria Print Service (available for devices running Android™ 4.4 or later on the Google Play store), they can enjoy easy printing directly over their wireless network from a Mopria-certified device.

“Brother is excited to join the Mopria Alliance and bring to market our very first Mopria-certified printers,” said Frank Martin, Brother Senior Director of Product Development. “We believe mobile device printing will continue to grow in importance to our customers, and we’re proud to do our part to support this drive for standardization.”
