Manager Says He Woke Woman
SPOKANE,
Wash. — Not only does crime not pay, it apparently makes you tired.
At
least that was the case Monday morning when Spokane Valley Police
arrested a suspected burglar after finding her asleep inside the Rapid
Refill Ink store, reported KXLY-TV in Spokane.
Store manager
Brent Henley found the burglar sound asleep in the showroom near the
front door. Henley said he woke her up.”I thought she was intoxicated. I
did say, ‘Hey, hello?’ She had slurred words and I couldn’t understand
what she was saying,” Henley said.Henley grabbed the phone and dialed
911, and the suspect stumbled to the bathroom, where she stayed until
police arrived and arrested her.Deputies said it appears the woman
entered through an unlocked back door. Deputies found a printer stashed
outside and ink cartridges stuffed in her purse.
Deputies said
the woman’s cell phone contained text messages discussing the burglary.
“From
what officers were saying, this could be something that was planned,”
Henley said.Spokane Valley Police have not released the woman’s name but
did confirm she was wanted on warrants for larceny and theft and now
faces burglary charges. She is currently catching up on her sleep in the
Spokane County Jail.
