Located at booth numbers L1-J15 and L1-C12, visitors will be able to experience Canon's slate of surveillance solutions and technology, including: a preview of new network cameras slated for launch in the second half of 2015; a glimpse into Canon's research into future surveillance technology for safer cities; and Canon's existing offerings from the Cinema EOS and Network Video Surveillance range.

Affirming Canon's commitment to technology developments to help cities navigate an increasingly more complex future, Mr Kensaku Konishi, President and CEO of Canon Singapore Pte Ltd said: "INTERPOL World 2015 offers a unique opportunity for world leaders, policy makers and industry captains to discuss and chart new directions in the global security industries. Placed at the precipice of change, Asia is set to welcome even greater population movement into her cities – and in some countries, movement into smarter cities."

Mr Konishi continues: "In such a reality, technology plays a key role in enabling transformation and Canon is committed to ensuring that these cities remain safe with the use of robust surveillance technology."

In recent years, the video surveillance system market has seen swift growth and Canon views its network surveillance camera business as a promising new business area and a driver for future growth.

Canon technology showcase at INTERPOL World 2015 includes:

    – The Next Generation of Surveillance Technology

Research and development by Canon showcases the possibilities of innovative solutions to partner government authorities and security firms in their goals. These videos demonstrate the applications in simultaneously tracking multiple people in congested situations and analysing the information; enhancing surveillance technology with the perceptive ability to detect abnormality in actions or behavior to predict potential danger and bringing an even higher level of clarity to surveillance technology.

    – Precision Monitoring with CMOS Sensor Technology and Cinema EOS

120 Million Image Pixels CMOS Sensor

This ultra-high resolution CMOS sensor with a pixel count at approximately 120 million pixels has high application potential not only in the fields of video production, aviation industry but also in surveillance monitoring. With this sensor, any portion of an image can be cropped to about 1/60th its size and extracted as Full HD video.

    35mm Full-Frame CMOS Sensor

A high-sensitivity 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor developed exclusively for video recording, enables the achievement of high-sensitivity and low noise Full HD video recording even in dark locations. With its ability to discern what escapes the naked eye, its application has wide potential particularly in the arena of surveillance for aviation.

Visitors to the Canon booth will also experience through a simulated low-light environment how our range of Cinema EOS cinematic cameras and Professional HD camcorders with its superb optic technology, low light capability and wide dynamic range will deliver expandable commercial applications to the surveillance industry. Specific products will include the XA 25, XF05 and EOS C100 Mark II.

    – The new range of Canon Network Visual Solutions

This expanded range of solutions include nine VB-R and VB-M series network cameras, versatile for use in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Three of which are High Speed Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) models capable of 360 degrees endless pan and up to 600x magnification.

INTERPOL World 2015, to be held from 14 to 16 April, is expecting to host over 250 international industry players from 35 countries and approximately 8,000 commercial buyers, police, law enforcement and government officials.
