Achieving High Image Quality and High Output Speed

Commercial-use InkJet printers must provide both
high image quality and high output speed, which is why Canon is developing wide
print heads with a 1-inch printing width.

    This print head offers
1200-dpi printing quality with 1,280 nozzles for each ink color, the highest
levels of density and ink nozzles for mass-production print heads in the
industry. Canon’s N1100/N2100 office color printers adopt 1-inch wide print
heads with four Rows of nozzles, while the W6200, W8200, W7200, W7250 and W2200
large-format printers have 1-inch wide print heads with six rows, for a total of
    7,680 nozzles.

    Head structure and ink
ejection control have been achieved at a high level due to the New “MicroFine
Droplet Technology” also employed in personal printers.

    This 1-inch wide
head has a wide printing range for each scan and printing speed has been
significantly increased through the use of high density of nozzles. The
synergies with bi-directional printing enable the realization of high-speed
output while maintaining high definition and high image
    quality.

Pigment Ink for Greater Color Stability and
    Coloration

High-quality Pg inks (pigment) have been developed
for our W6200 and W8200. These inks were developed to respond to professional
needs in the fields of photography and graphic arts by offering superior
characteristics of the highest standard for pigment ink, including light
fastness, water resistance, color stability, coloration, and color
reproducibility. In particular, coloation and color reproducibility attained a
level on par with dye ink
    s.
