Compared to the prior generation, new features include a customizable user interface, standard Searchable PDF (OCR) and Scan to Office Open XML capabilities. Several security features that were previously only offered as options are now standard on the imageRUNNER ADVANCE Next Generation platform. The new imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4200 series incorporates these features as well as increased hard disk drive capacity, faster warm-up times, improved misfeed recovery features and IP Fax support.
