Launches 24 new products in IT peripheral segment
Canon
India today launched 24 new products in IT peripheral segment, which
included an IP surveillance camera marking its entry into Indian
surveillance and security space.”There is immense need that we have
felt for modern product in surveillance and security space,” said Alok
Bharadwaj, vice-president, Canon India.”The IP camera that we have
launched today are enabled with hi-tech features like night vision,
intelligent image capturing. We are confident of leading Indian
surveillance and security market which is estimated to be Rs 100
crore,” he said.Apart from this, the range unveiled today
includes four single format inkjet printers, 10 all-in-one printers, 3
laser printers, 5 projectors and one scanner.Canon has added Digital
Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) feature in one of its
projectors, which has a resolution of 1400×1050 pixels. This projector
can display direct image from PictBridge-Compatible digital cameras.Canon
claims that high resolution projectors that it has launched today would
cater to the needs of studies in healthcare industry.”The new addition
in the existing range of IT peripherals and products are based on
future technology. The resolution of our projectors have high
resolution and will help specialists in health industry to conduct
various studies,” said Bharadwaj.He said Canon has provided enhanced
version of projectors to give clear picture and help experts to go
through minute details that are required for their study.Canon also said one multi-purpose inkjet printer in this new range of products is wi-fi enabled.
Canon
expressed hope that these new additions would add 30 per cent
additional growth to the company’s revenue.”This year till September
end we registered growth of 58 per cent in printer division, where as
the overall industry showed a decline of 14 per cent,” said VP
Sajeevan, assistant director, Consumer System Product Division, Canon
India.He said the newly launched products are aimed to increase
Canon’s presence in home print, office print and scan, project print,
entertainment, education and government.”Simultaneously we are entering
into three new segments – namely project security, industrial security
and health care. I am optimistic that this launch altogether will make
easy for us to achieve 40 per cent company growth target in 2010,” he
added. -
