Clover's West Point Products Relocates & Lays Off 45 Employees
West Point Products Relocating Valley Grove Operation to Washington Pa.; 45 WV Workers Laid Off
 

West Point Products on Monday announced that it will relocate its remaining sales and administrative staff from its Valley Grove location in Ohio County to the company's corporate headquarters in Washington Pa.

Half the company's 90 employees will be offered positions at the Washington location, while the other half will be laid off.

In a press release issued on Monday, Tom Day, president of the company, said, "Our industry has been continuously consolidating for several years resulting in an increasingly challenging global market environment."

"In an effort to maintain our competitive position in the marketplace, we've determined that it's no longer economically feasible for us to continue to operate two facilities in such close proximity to each other," Day said in the release. "We regret the impact these moves will have on our affected employees and their families and greatly appreciate the contribution of each employee and thank them for their years of dedicated service."

In July of 2013, 66 employees at the company were laid off due to another consolidation.
