DOES LADY-GAGA MAKE POLAROID PRINTERS SEXY?
Lady Gaga unveils Polaroid Grey Label
We will soon find out if people will buy anything related to Lady Gaga, as her collaboration with Polaroid is coming to fruition. The artist’s Polaroid Grey Label line, announced at CES 2011, includes an instant camera, sunglasses that shoot and display photos and video, and the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer.

Of the three, it’s the GL10 that’s actually available to buy now at the Bloomingdale’s 59th St. flagship store in New York City and will roll out to select Bloomingdale’s nationwide in late June. Preorders for the GL10 are also currently available at Polaroid.com and will be available on hsn.com starting May 27. It’s also coming to Costco on June 20.

The 15-ounce GL10 uses Polaroid’s second-gen Zink (zero ink) technology that creates instant 3×4-inch prints with Polaroid’s classic border or full-bleed protected by a smudge-proof, water-resistant coating. The printer is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery good for up to 35 prints and can print wirelessly over Bluetooth or via USB.

I tested Polaroid’s PoGo instant camera a while back, and although it was fun to use, the prints were tiny, expensive, and merely OK. The GL10 is a standalone printer, though, so you get bigger prints and hopefully better quality from the newer Zink printing. Prints are still a little pricey at 30 for $19.99, and the printer ain’t cheap either at $169.99.Polaroid also announced an Android app for editing photos and adding filters and borders. It’s supposed to be available in the Android Market, but a quick search didn’t find it.
