EPSON LAUNCHES ENERGY-SAVING PATROL TEAMS (SPY TEAMS ?)
TAIPEI,
Taiwan, Seiko Epson Corporation and Epson Taiwan Technology &
Trading Limited today announced the formation of the Taiwan
Energy-Saving Patrol Team. The team is based on the Shinshu
Energy-Saving Patrol Team, which has during the course of nearly 250
patrols since 2000 provided energy-saving solutions to and shared
knowledge with local businesses and corporations located near Epson’s
corporate headquarters in Nagano Prefecture, Japan.Boasting a long
history of environmental innovation, Epson is committed to creating a
harmonious balance between corporate activities and the environment, and
has once again taken the initiative by assembling the Taiwan
Energy-Saving Patrol Team. The mission of the team is to conduct onsite
inspections and evaluations at local companies, and to offer feasible
energy-saving advice to boost environmental protection and promote a
balance between business and the environment. Led by the Taiwan Business
Council for Sustainable Development, the new patrol team will comprise
19 professionally trained members including representatives from
Chunghwa Telecom, AverMedia, Hotai Development, and Pioneer Material
Precision Tech. With support from Epson’s Head Office in Japan, Epson
Taiwan established the Taiwan Energy-Saving Patrol Team in association
with the Taiwan Business Council for Sustainable Development. Sure Lee,
president of Epson Taiwan said, “Environmental issues are generating
considerable concern in society, and the employment of effective
energy-saving and environmental protection measures to fulfill corporate
social responsibilities without disrupting business operations has
become a significant challenge to corporations today. Epson is proud to
be working with the Taiwan Business Council for Sustainable Development
to establish the only privately-run non-profit energy-saving patrol team
to deliver effective consultancy for energy management, and also help
corporations strengthen their competitiveness by reducing costs.”By
helping organizations to enhance their energy efficiency in business
and production processes, the Taiwan Energy-Saving Patrol Team is
looking to achieve its core objectives of reducing carbon emissions and
helping to alleviate global warming. The team plans to deliver free,
onsite energy diagnoses to help businesses establish and introduce
energy-saving measures. Plans call for a gradual increase in team
members while conducting 15-20 patrols at different businesses and
organizations per year.The Taiwan Energy-Saving Patrol Team will soon
begin accepting applications for energy-saving diagnoses. Businesses and
organizations who wish to improve their energy-saving efficiency are
welcome to submit their application to the Taiwan Business Council for
Sustainable Development.Environmental Vision 2050 Building on its
history of environmentally-conscious activities, Epson is now striving
to achieve its challenging Environmental Vision 2050. -
