LOS ANGELES, Jan 09 – OfficeMax Inc said on Wednesday it hired forme
Circuit
City Stores Inc Chief Financial Officer Bruce Besanko as its own CFO
and executive vice president, effective Feb. 16.Circuit City said last
week it would liquidate its assets and shutter hundreds of U.S. stores
after failing to find a buyer for the bankrupt electronics
retailer.”Bruce brings a strong background in business and financial
leadership that will further strengthen our management team, and we
look forward to his many contributions,” Sam Duncan, OfficeMax chairman
and chief executive, said in a statement.Before joining Circuit City in
2007, Besanko was senior vice president of finance and CFO for Yankee
Candle Co Inc from 2005 until 2007.Besanko, 50, was also vice president
of finance for Best Buy Co Inc from 2002 to 2005.
