    Office
Depot is looking to trim its work force of 2,000 corporate employees in
Delray Beach through a voluntary separation program.Severance is being
offered to hourly and salaried employees who accept the offer to leave
the office-supplies retailer’s headquarters. No store employees are
involved.”With the economic environment we and many other companies are
being prudent. We’re taking steps to trim expenses,” Brian Levine, a
company spokesman, said Wednesday.Levine would not say how many job
reductions are targeted and would not reveal the terms of the severance
package. He said Office Depot has no plans at this time to lay off
workers. The company sent a memorandum to workers on Monday announcing
sessions this week explaining details of the voluntary separation offer.
