FORTUNE — Hewlett-Packard's (HPQ) U.S. workforce had shrunk to 304,000 by 2010 when the company announced that it would be shutting down its Cupertino campus — then only 60% occupied — and consolidating its operations in Palo Alto.
The offices it left behind stood vacant for more than two years. Then, in February, they were torn down to make room for Apple's (AAPL) new headquarters, designed to hold 12,000 employees and scheduled to be completed in 2016.
Someone at Apple cared enough about the old buildings — or their removal — to record the demolition in slow motion. The attached video, spotted by AppleInsider, was posted on YouTube Monday by "Apple Internal."
