"Corporations in the business and graphic arts environment are constantly seeking technological solutions that produce advanced image quality, while saving cost and improving business growth at the same time," said Hanada at the launch of the Versant 2100 Press during Fuji Xerox DocuWorld 2014 in Kuala Lumpur.

"Fuji Xerox has always been at the forefront to invent arrays of exclusive technology that are integrated in all our products, making us the leading innovators in producing solutions that redefine the market's standards," he said.

Hanada started his career with Fuji Xerox in 1981 after graduating from Waseda University in Japan with a degree in Education, and has held various roles in sales and sales planning in Japan as well as resident officer in USA.

Datuk Dr. Abu Bakar bin Mohamad Diah, deputy minister, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), who officiated the opening of the DocuWorld event, said: "Science, technology and innovation are central to success in today's modern economy. They are strategic investments for building a more innovative and vibrant economy, as well as vital resources to face the challenges and uncertainties of the 21st century."

    Vision 2020

"We want to become a nation that is competent, confident and innovative in its technologies as we head towards achieving the goals of Vision 2020," said Dr Abu Bakar. "To achieve this, we need to enhance the transformation of knowledge into products, processes, services or solutions that add value across every industry for maximum socio-economic benefit by encouraging research on new technologies and solutions."

"It is promising to see Fuji Xerox Malaysia continuously innovating and producing solutions that help businesses grow, and we value Fuji Xerox's efforts in developing sustainable products that will contribute to the economic growth in Malaysia," he said.

Fuji Xerox's Hanada said the Versant 2100 Press was a versatile solution offering productivity gains for all digital businesses in Malaysia and print professionals.

"The compact new full colour press is also perfect for entry-level production as it is capable of printing up to 100 prints per minute (ppm)," he said. "The solution features an inline, integrated Full Width Array and other functions, which helps users to automate colour control, create image-to-media alignment profiles and deliver brand-managed colour in less time with less waste; and a Production Accurate Registration technology that helps to maintain tight registration throughout the press from page-to-page and run-to-run."

Hanada said that Fuji Xerox's new Ultra HD Resolution in the Versant 2100 Press was an industry first where applications were rendered at 1200 x 1200 dpi at up to 10 bits, equivalent to 300 percent more pixels and colour precision rendered than the current 600 x 600 dpi market standard.

"We are committed to helping customers expand and improve their businesses in the ever growing digitisation of the printing industry, Fuji Xerox will continue to innovate via leading digital printing technologies, applications and services to allow its customers to 'Do More, With More,' " he said. "Helping businesses grow is what we are passionate about. We think ahead and focus on the future in everything we do; and above all, we value the ability of our world-class office solutions and expert services to help customers enhance efficiency and uncover future business strategies."

Fuji Xerox is a 75-25 joint venture between FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation and Xerox Corporation. In Malaysia, it was incorporated as Rank Xerox in 1966, later renamed to Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (Malaysia Operations) in 1991.
