Police pursuit lands burglary suspect
UPPER
MORELAND – A burglary at Kinko’s in Upper Moreland turned into a
high-speed police chase that saw a fleeing criminal’s vehicle race
through stop signs and rip down streets at nearly 50 mph over posted
speed limits, authorities said.

Manalak T. Hamilton, 24, of
Springfield, Mass., was jailed after the Wednesday chase turned into a
foot pursuit and an officer apprehended him around 4:30 a.m. near the
Second Alarmers Rescue Squad on Davisville Road, police said.

Officers
are still searching for a second person, who eluded arrest after the
pair attempted to steal approximately $2,000 worth of printer toner
cartridges from Kinko’s in the Regency Square Shopping Center on the
1000 block of Route 611, police said.Hamilton was jailed on $50,000
bail, police said. He was not, they said, cooperative.He was yelling in
his cell,” a police spokesperson said. “He said it was all a
misunderstanding.”

Police are still investigating what the New
England man, who fled in a car with New York plates, was doing in the
Philadelphia suburbs.Police recovered the printer cartridges in the
Nissan Altima that Hamilton drove away in, but not before a dangerous
chase.
