HP Parts With UK Sales Director Richard Logan

    Printer and PC worlds collide
HP sales director Richard Logan is exiting the organisation as the printer and PCs business units collide, say channel sources close to the vendor. The shake-up at the top of the Printing and Personal Systems (PPS) biz began some months ago with Eric Cador, EMEA head of the PC division, bagging the most senior role in the region.Closer to home, UK PC boss Paul Hunter pipped printer honcho Norman Richardson to become country manager for PPSG.

Company insiders claim that HP has been whittling down the wider teams. Logan, who was corporate enterprise and public sector sales director for PSG, is the most senior head among a batch of layoffs and departures across the unit.Popular channel figure Logan, who managed the direct sales team in the specific verticals, had been with the business for close to a decade.

He started at Compaq as national account manager in 1998 until the firm was swallowed by HP, when he became account director for Computacenter. In 2004 he took control of the UK distie business in the now-defunct Solutions Partner Organisation, the over-arching channel team, before moving into the networking biz as corporate and enterprise sales manager until October 2010.

HP told The Channel that Bernard Dolan, formerly global account GM, is taking over as corporate enterprise and managed print services director for PPS in the UK and Ireland.the same time, HP confirmed that channel sales director Pascal Bourguet is now UK and Ireland retail and commercial director for PPS.Logan was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
