IBM is introducing the Infoprint 1410 multifunction printer (MFP), an all-in-one device that can help clients reduce costs and improve productivity by consolidating existing office equipment into one machine. Ideal for small businesses and enterprise workgroups, IBM’s all-in-one MFP enables customers to print, copy, fax and scan from a single machine.

As virtually every company works to find new ways to lower costs, stretch budgets and increase the value of their existing assets, smart companies are starting to consolidate their office equipment. By replacing disparate office devices with MFPs, clients can obtain advanced functionality and the ability to consolidate supplies, services and support with a single vendor, putting their output processes to work to recapture value for their business.

”IBM built its printing business on delivering competitive solutions based on the specific needs of clients, such as reducing the cost of output and improving business productivity,” said Paul Preo, manager, distributed printer product management. “The Infoprint 1410 MFP can help clients consolidate office equipment and lower their total cost of ownership, giving them more agility to compete in the marketplace — and helping them to transform into an on demand business.”

The IBM Infoprint 1410 MFP has an integrated design to help customers avoid high acquisition costs and reduce operating costs. By combining full-function print, copy, fax and network scan capabilities into one device, including fax-from-workstation, scan-to-e-mail and file transfer protocol (FTP), clients can reduce output management time. The Infoprint 1410 MFP includes MarkVision print management software for proactive real-time monitoring, as well as a simple user interface to improve and simplify device management. Optional Wireless Ethernet can enable wireless connectivity to local area network resources including servers, printers, PCs and laptop computers.

IBM’s new MFP is a black-and-white laser printer that prints up to 22 pages per minute, offering 300 dots per inch (dpi), 600 dpi and 1200 image quality resolution settings. A single toner cartridge, the only supply item required for the device, is available in a high-yield version to help minimize interventions and lost time due to supply outages. Print darkness settings can help customers save up to 50 percent on toner usage.

The IBM Infoprint 1410 MFP is backed by IBM’s unmatched service and maintenance capabilities, as well as a broad range of output solutions. IBM can help customers link the device to their existing desktop management, help desk and other infrastructure services to create an integrated output environment.

IBM plans to make the IBM Infoprint 1410 MFP available April 23, 2004. For more information, contact an IBM representative or the company website.
