Canon Consumable Supply Delays Due to Port Clearances
Canon
has made its strong position in the Indian market but according to some
channel partners there is a shortage of Canon printers consumables in
the market. The problem is because of port clearance
dilly-dally.Speaking to IT VAR News, Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice
President, Canon India said, Some cases are unique and our overall
consumable supply position is good in India. Over the years there has
been an increase in the demand of consumables. There are a few
bottlenecks due to port clearance issues which are temporary.On
the other hand the vendor in order to increase the awareness and
availability of original ink cartridges has opened 900 Original Ink
Centers and by December Canon is targeting 1000 such centers.These Ink
Centers are not directly run by Canon but by credible partners.The
company is targeting 80 per cent growth in the printer division for home
and SOHO products and 29 per cent growth from business to business
products. Major growth markets for Canon are Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and
Bangalore. Apart from metros it considers Guwahati, Indore, Baroda,
Ludhiana and Coimbatore as significant markets.
