Ricoh Cuts 400 Jobs in US

This past week was a tough one at Ricoh USA as about 400 people were downsized in the latest round of job cuts.  Indeed, several long time friends have taken retirement packages or been outright laid off in this recent move and we’re hearing that even executives in Malvern may be leaving to pursue other interests (a source from a local RBS friend told me Marketing VP Mike Dane is leaving).  Our understanding is that as many as 100 people were let go at Ricoh’s US HQ in West Caldwell with the others being spread across offices elsewhere.

An article from a Glastonbury news source indicated that over 57 were cut in the Glastonbury office.  The article also states that over 70 employees will lose their jobs at an unnamed NJ branch.

While the news is bad for Ricoh employees that suddenly find themselves without jobs, Ricoh appears to be handling redundancy that still exists from the IKON acquisition over 4 years ago.  The changes will hopefully streamline the company and eliminate the IKON VS Ricoh mentality that still exits in some pockets within the company.

We will provide more information about this latest move as it becomes available.
