IRT's Spanish Magazine Celebrates Second Anniversary

September 15, 2015 marks the 24th edition, or second anniversary, of the Recycling Times Espanol Magazine. First published in September 2013, it became an important part of RT Media’s strategy to unite the multi-billion dollar global industry with the inclusion of a Spanish-language edition.

The three most spoken languages in the world are English, Spanish and Chinese. Spanish is the major language in 21 sovereign states totalling 442 million people. It is also spoken in 44 countries, with Mexico being the largest Spanish speaking population in the world.

“We have sadly seen the demise of many well-known regional industry magazines over the last 5 years,” says David Gibbons, Director of Communication for RT Media. “So RT Media have developed a strategy which sees the one global news and views magazine, published in 4 different languages each month—English, Chinese, Russian … and now Spanish.”Ivan Rosales (pictured) was appointed editor of the Spanish magazine 2 years ago, responsible for the translation, publishing and distribution of the monthly editions. He has more than 22 years imaging industry experience—running his own cartridge enterprise in Guadalajara, Mexico and a former president of the LATAM Remanufactured Cartridges Association—and holds an engineering degree in quality control and an MBA, According to Rosales, Recycling Times Espanol Magazine now reaches 18 Spanish speaking territories, including Mexico, Spain, Columbia, Argentina and Chile.

Spanish speaking technical, legal and research experts now make up the 82 regular writers and contributors to the magazine each month.

“Our readers want a one-stop-shop to get the information they need for their businesses,” Rosales explains. “They can get all the information in various places on line, but the magazine pulls that all together… technical tips, new products, legal issues and market trends. Industry leaders also give the ‘behind-the-news views’ on what is really going on.”
A recent report of 122 enterprises in 12 different Central and South American companies reveals 52% of enterprises are maintaining stability while 25% have reported increases in revenue. The leading countries include Mexico, Argentina and Columbia. Experts predict that the inkjet market will continue to increase through to 2016.

To cater further for this market’s development, RT Media is pleased to announce its RT Imaging Summit & Expo Americas will be held in Cancun on June 2-3, 2016. As one of the largest business hubs on the American continent, Mexico is strategically placed as a geographical and business intersection between the North & South American markets.
