Kids in Motion Cited for Recycling

Hannibal, MO —FundingFactory ®, the nation’s largest fund-raising-by-recycling program for schools and non-profits, salutes the Douglass Community Services Kids in Motion (KIM) program of Hannibal as a top recycler. KIM is ranked No. 26 out of 22,000 participating schools in the United States.

Since launching the recycling fund-raiser in 2002, Kids in Motion has raised more than $20,000 and kept 23,000 pounds of electronics-related waste out of landfills. By recycling printer cartridges, cell phones and small electronics, the KIM program is keeping the Earth clean and green while raising funds to support their summer youth program.

“I want to especially thank my awesome RSVP volunteers, Glen Moore, Erwin Givan, and Richard Reeves.  They are the ones responsible for the success of our fund-raising program,” said Amy Vaughn, KIM director. “In addition, we couldn’t do this without the support of all of the local businesses and individuals that save their cartridges for us.  We are so thankful and appreciative to all who have hand in this recognition.”
