Kodak Ohio workers told about 80 layoffs coming
DAYTON — Eastman Kodak Co. employees were told about 80 Dayton workers will be laid of this month.
Kodak has between 500 and 600 local employees. The Rochester, N.Y.-based company filed for bankruptcy protection in January.
Kodak said it received permission from the bankruptcy court to continue paying employees, maintaining customer programs and using current cash management systems and bank accounts
The Dayton Daily News reported Kodak spokesman Christopher Veronda confirmed in an email that employees were told Monday about upcoming layoffs.
He said adjustments are being made to improve profitability.
Dayton is the home base for Kodak’s commercial inkjet business. The company does research and development, marketing and manufacturing of commercial inkjet printers there.
