Lexmark International Group (NYSE:LXK) is an integrated global developer, manufacturer and supplier of printing solutions and products, including laser and inkjet printers and associated supplies for the office and home markets. Earnings estimates for Lexmark have experienced a nice bounce over the past month, as the company reported third quarter diluted net earnings of 79 cents per share on revenue of $1.157 billion late last month. The earnings result beat the consensus by 10 cents, or more than +14%, while the revenue rise of +11% marked the company’s highest year-to-year growth rate since the first quarter of 2001. Earnings estimates for this year and next have each improved by 1-cent and 2 cents respectively over the last 7 trading days. Although it continues to be cautious due to the uncertain economic environment, Lexmark still believes that its product launches for both home and business users position it well for the fourth quarter. Lexmark appears to be on the right course with a clear path for the future.
