    Lexmark Plans to Sink $16 Million into Upgrading Kentucky Facility

    , 2009 Office equipment manufacturer Lexmark plans to invest $16
    million for new research and development equipment at its laboratory
    here.The company says the updates will enable them to develop the next
    generation of multi-function printers, all-in-one office equipment and
    in-home photo processing, according to a filing with the
    state.Kentucky’s Economic Development Finance Authority recently
    approved a tax incentive package worth nearly $1 million toward the
    project. That deal gets cut in half if the company doesn’t maintain
    3,000 workers at the site come the end of this year.
