Electronics Inc., Korea’s second-largest electronics maker, said
yesterday it will resume selling printers starting later this month to
meet demand from personal computer buyers.The printers, to be introduced
domestically as early as the end of December, will be manufactured by
the U.S.-based Lexmark and sold under LG’s brand name, the Korean firm
said.“Our personal computer buyers have requested that they would also
like to purchase a package of related equipment,” a company official
said. “This is a move to respond to such requests.” LG plans to
introduce ink-jet and laser printer models.In 1995, LG Electronics
pulled out of the domestic printer market, citing worsening
profitability.
