Brother Gulf records 87 per cent growth within booming inkjet MFC segment
Brother
Group, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of
printing, communication and digital imaging products for homes, small
office/home offices (SOHO) and enterprises, announced that it has
posted JPY 130.5 billion in global revenues for the second quarter of
FY’09. A key contributor to the results is the Inkjet Multifunctional
Centres (MFC) category, where Brother Gulf has recorded an 87 per cent
growth in the second quarter of 2008. The announcement follows Brother
Gulf’s recent participation at GITEX Dubai where it launched the
world’s first A3 colour inkjet MFC- the MFC 6490CW.
In the
Middle East, according to Emeconomy.com, Brother Gulf is continuously
developing new technologies to incorporate more innovative and
high-technology features within its products. Driven by the positive
outlook on the growth of Colour Laser Printers and MFCs in the region,
Brother Gulf has registered 95 per cent growth in the second quarter of
2008 for its MFC business. In the UAE the company has also posted 25
per cent and 119 per cent growth rates for the Mono laser MFC and
Printer segments respectively.“Our steady growth can be attributed to
several factors, including production innovation and R&D expansion
of printing businesses. We continue to aggressively pursue a greater
market share and have in fact been boosting investments and fortifying
our business and operational foundations. Our strong start for FY’09
validates the effectiveness of our global expansion initiatives and
bodes well for our performance for the rest of the year,” said Shinji
Tada, Managing Director, Brother Gulf.Following the successful
launch of the world’s first A3 Color Inkjet MFC, Brother Gulf has also
introduced 11 new colour inkjet printers – 9 for the Home & SOHO
and 2 for the SMB segment, which are expected to hit the market later
this month. The company offers a best-in-class, one-year limited
warranty on the A3 Color Inkjet MFC, making it a considerable value
when compared to other colour inkjet all-in-one units currently
available on the market. Further, Brother Gulf also has plans to
aggressively price its laser printers, Digital Copier-Printers and MFCs
at the entry level, shift from single-function laser printers to MFCs,
encourage the use of Brother genuine consumables and promote inkjet
MFCs with power retailers in a bid to accelerate its regional growth.“The
vibrancy of the Gulf’s business sector has made it a prime market for
computer peripherals; so far we have been able to strategically
position our company to capitalize on the growth opportunities
presented by the region. A major advantage we have is our highly
competent and well-motivated channel partners, who are eager to
introduce our innovative products and solutions. One thing we are
looking forward to is the market entry of our ground-breaking A3 colour
inkjet MFC by December 2008, as this product generated a lot of
interest when we recently launched it at GITEX 2008,” concluded Tada. -
