Mimaki Receives Greenguard Gold Certification for OEM Inks Source.
Mimaki has received the Greenguard Gold Certification for its Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) LX101 latex, SS21 eco-solvent, and LH-100, LUS-150 and LUS-200 UV-cure inks. The Greenguard Gold Certification demands stricter certification criteria and considers safety factors to ensure that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as educational and medical facilities.
Greenguard Certification is part of UL Environment, a business unit of UL (Underwriters Laboratories). As an ISO-IEC Guide 65:1996 accredited, third-party certifying body, the Greenguard Environmental Institute issues the Greenguard Certification to help manufacturers create – and help buyers identify – superior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in environments in which the products are used.
Greenguard Certification requires stringent emissions criteria be met in addition to verification of numerous other technical requirements before certification is awarded. After initial certification, ongoing testing, documentation and verification processes are required for demonstration of consistent product performance.
“Mimaki Engineering develops its own inks for best performance in a range of Mimaki printers,” said Ken VanHorn, Director, Marketing and Business Development for Mimaki USA. “While ink development requires an investment in extensive R&D effort, Mimaki is committed to continuous development of the most technologically advanced yet safest inks for an array of applications.”
About Mimaki OEM inks
Mimaki LX101 latex inks are used in JV400LX Series printers, and include white, orange and green in the inkset. The inks are fast drying for immediate handling. The extended color gamut can reproduce up to 94 percent of the PANTONE® color chart, increasing the ability to hit corporate colors, and improves skin tones and pastels.
Mimaki SS21 eco-solvent inks are used in a variety of JV Series printers and CJV Series cut-and-print.
