2007 a good year for Italian printer market

February 2008 – Rome, ItalyThe Italian printing device market performed
well in 2007 according to data from market analyst firm GfK.
Overall,
volume was up by 10 percent while value increased by 12 percent.For the
first time, sales of multifunctional devices (MFDs) exceeded those of
standard single function printers, and sales of laser MFDs experienced
double-digit growth.According to GfK, the extremely good performance of
these products is mainly due to increased penetration in the consumer
market, which now accounts for more than 20 percent of volume and is
increasing in market share.
