Truck containing $1 million of computer printers stolen in Fort Pierce
DEC, 2005
FORT
PIERCE – A tractor-trailer loaded with $1 million worth of computer
printers was stolen from a local truck stop Monday afternoon.
The
49-year-old driver told deputies he parked his truck at the Flying J
truck stop, in the 100 block of Kings Highway, about 2:30 p.m. to get
something to eat. When he went outside a short time later, he saw his
truck and trailer were stolen, a sheriff’s report states.
The truck
was a 2002 Freightliner and the trailer was a 1998 Great Dane,
containing about $1 million worth of Lexmark computer printers. The
trailer had a Maine license plate and was white with a star logo on the
side, the report states.
A witness told deputies he saw a white man
with dirty blonde hair, wearing blue jeans and a faded green shirt
drive off in the truck. The sheriff’s office is investigating the theft.
