Worldwide Revenue from At-Home Digital Photo Printing Will Near $10 Billion in 2008

A New report  finds that worldwide revenue from at-home printing of photos captured by digital camera will grow from $7.1 billion in 2003 to $9.9 billion in 2008, a compound annual growth rate of 9 percent. The comprehensive report, Consumer Photo-Printing Market: Where Digital Photos Will Be Printed, examines consumer photo-printing behavior and forecasts where digital camera owners will print the photos they capture–at home, at retail, or online.

"The majority of digital camera photos will continue to be printed at home, which is good news for ink jet printer and supplies vendors: sales of ink cartridges and photo paper will increase," explained Robert Palmer, director of Lyra's Digital Photography Advisory Service. Palmer added, "As the household penetration of digital cameras increases, the choices consumers make about where they conduct photo printing will continue to evolve."

Consumer Photo-Printing Market: Where Digital Photos Will Be Printed is available now. The report provides digital camera shipment and revenue forecasts through 2008 and estimates the size of the photo-printing market for digital cameras with details by world region. The report also outlines the opportunities and challenges for vendors interested in capturing photo-printing revenue and profiles the companies that are emerging as leaders in this market.
