BROTHER GETS AGGRESIVE TO CAPTURE PRINTER MARKET
Electronics and imaging company Brother International is angling to push its inkjet and laser printers in the IT space. The company has separated its product line into two series: Workstyle and Lifestyle.

The Workstyle series is aimed at the SMB and large business segments, while its Lifestyle series will cater to home and SOHO segments.

Says R S Anand Kumar, country manager, Brother International India, “The idea is to offer more choice to the customer and open more IT channels and retail outlets to offer a look-touch-feel experience of the product.”

Besides low pricing, the company boasts of the Photo Capture Centre feature of its products using which one can slot in the media card from a digital camera and be able to select and print digital photos directly from the machines.

Also, the vendor has announced a three-year onsite warranty, which would bring down the cost of ownership to the end-customer.

For the benefit of its channel partners the company offers third-party service, wherein it has appointed Accel ICIM as the national service provider.

According to Brother, its products utilize a four-cartridge printing system in which the color ink cartridge can be replaced individually, easing the process.

In future, the company plans to come up with more marketing activities and aggressive price positioning, informs Kumar.
