Brother debuts wireless color MFC
Brother
International today introduced the MFC-820cw, its color multi-function
center machine (MFC) featuring a 2.5-inch color LCD and built-in
802.11b/g wireless support. The 6-in-1 device includes color inkjet
printer; copier; scanner; PhotoCapture Center; fax; and PC fax
functions. The MFC-820cw offers photo quality color printing, copying,
and scanning alongside stand-alone color faxing. Featuring up to 6,000
x 1,200 dpi color printing, the MFC contains an automatic 10-page
document feeder. Brother’s MFC-820cw is expected to ship in February
for $250.
The device can scan a document to any computer on the
network, fax documents from computers on the network using Brother
software, receive faxes to any Windows-based computer on the network,
and access images that are stored on media cards inserted into the
“PhotoCapture Center” of the MFC-820cw.
When using the built-in
802.11b/g wireless connectivity, the multi-function center machine
features “SecureEasySetup,” easing the installation process of the MFC
on a wireless network. The “SecureEasySetup” feature automatically
configures the wireless network and security settings of the MFC-820cw
with the push of a button, enabling simple and secure communications
with a wireless router which supports the feature
