Original Ink Centres Launched in India

FeB, 2008 Canon India has announced the launch of Original Ink Centres
(OICs) in India. The company has presently launched 18 OICs in the
country including 15 in Delhi, 1 in Bangalore, 1 in Mumbai and 1 in
Pune. The company aims to set up 55 such centres by June 2008.The
original ink centre aims to increase consumer awareness about the
advantages of using original inks for all inkjet printing products and
making original inks easily available to the consumers.”Refilling, over
a period of times, proves detrimental to the printers and AIOs. The
Original Ink Centre is a significant step in Canon’s conscious attempt
to help the customers in understanding the long-term benefits of using
original inks,” said V. P. Sajeevan, assistant director (consumer
systems products) from Canon India.The OIC unit comprises a point of
sale area for cartridges alongwith information on current schemes, POS
and also a consumable compatibility chart that helps customers to match
their printer type with the right consumable. The originality of the
consumables can be checked with lens provided on the unit to check the
holograms.OICs can be identified through a signage outside the shop
featuring the OIC logo. The logo has been designed on Kathakali, the
traditional dance form of Kerala.
