Canon to Build Toner Cartridge Plant in Northern Japan
Tokyo,
Sept 2007 – Canon Inc.said Monday it will spend some 80 billion yen to
build a toner cartridge plant in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, northern
Japan.The new plant will be built on a 32,000-square-meter plot
adjacent to an existing factory run by the company’s Canon Precision
Inc. unit.Construction of the plant will begin in November with
operations set to begin in August next year. The company did not
disclose the size of output.The new plant will hire about 1,000 workers
by the end of 2009.
