Canon to sell 3,400 new multifunction printers by yr-end
Canon
Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has targeted to sell 3,400 units of the
new imageCLASS MF5700 series of multifunction printers by year end. The
printers are targeted at small and medium entreprises and will enable
them to boost efficiency and productivity.
Its senior director and
general manager (office system & solution) Lim Kok Hin said the
series was a definite boon to small as well as large offices as it
saved money as well as enhanced productivity and profitability.
He said Canon had retained its number one position in the “all-in-one” laser printer market with a market share above 30%.
Lim
said it aimed to sell 4,800 units of the new imageCLASS MF5700 series,
comprising MF5750 and MF5770, in 2006. Prices for the new series range
from RM2,099 to RM3,199.
He said the yield for the product was 2,500
copies based on 6% density at a cost of RM199 working out to less than
eight sen per print compared to others which have a running cost of
above 10 sen per print.
“Multifunction devices like the MF5700
series – capable of high-quality printing, copying, scanning and faxing
all in one – represent the optimal solution for these small
businesses,” Lim said.
The imageCLASS MF5750 and MF5770 series also provide higher printing and copying speed performance of up to 20 pages per minute.
The
scanner is bundled with Canon’s scanning software. Its colour CCD
scanning method enables the reproduction of visual images with 48/24
colour depth.
