29 September 2003 – Bracknell (UK): Dell launches its printers in Europe next month and will back it up with a free toner recycling programme.
Aimed At the Consumer and small and medium business markets, the firm will roll out seven new inkjet, laser and multi-function printers.
Each Dell toner cartridge will come with a pre-paid postage label in which the customer can return used cartridges for recycling. All printers come with the Dell ink and toner management systems which instruct the user when a replacement cartridge is required.
In an attempt to eat away at rival Hewlett-Packard’s profit centre, Dell entered the printer market in the US in March and promised to drive down prices in the long run
