The Internet provider filed the Lawsuits Jan. 18 but announced the filings
Wednesday. The lawsuits name defendants in California, Florida and Washington,
as well as unidentified defendants.
The California suit charges Gregory Lars Alsing with sending “fraudulent
e-mails … advertising cable descramblers.”
In Florida, B.C. Alliance of Sunrise and Craig S. Brockwell of Miami were
accused of sending deceptive e-mails for inkjet printers.
Another suit against a different group of alleged spammers in Florida claims
Peter Moshou of Auburndale and several unidentified accomplices sent out
unsolicited e-mails promoting brokerage services.
The Washington suit alleges Christina Reese and Angela M. Nickerson sent
“tens of thousands of fraudulent and deceptive e-mails advertising pornographic
Web sites.”
All four suits were filed in federal District Court in Atlanta.
Each suit accuses the defendants with violating the federal CAN SPAM Act as
well As various state and federal Statutes.
