WI State
printers offered environmental incentives
Small and large
printers interested in earning incentives for environmental compliance can
participate in pilot programs launched by the state Department of Commerce,
Department of Natural Resources and the Wisconsin printing industry.
The Environmental Results Program, designed for small printers, will develop
a self-certification approach to improve compliance with air, water and waste
regulations. The self-certification program could replace the need for a
registration and general operating permit. It could also eliminate the need to
submit emission reports.
The Environmental Management System Program, designed for large printers,
will use a continuous quality improvement approach. It will allow one permit to
cover all releases of pollutants into the environment.
