Printer Maker Says Injunction Won’t Stop Sales
Thermal printer manufacturer FutureLogic, Inc. will continue to sell and ship one model of its printers in the face of a legal action by a competitor, company executives said.TransAct Technologies filed for a preliminary injunction against Glendale-based FutureLogic to keep it from making, selling or importing dual port printers including the GEN2 Universal printer.

TransAct alleges in a federal court filing that FutureLogic infringed on its patent for dual port technology. The action is a continuation of the disputes that existed between the two companies in federal court and will not interfere with the sale or shipping of the GEN2 printer, said John Hilbert, vice president of systems development and intellectual property for FutureLogic.FutureLogic printers are used in the gaming, parking, medical and agricultural industries.
