Fellowes sues Chinese manufacturer

2008 – Itasca (IL), USAFellowes’ German subsidiary has filed a patent
infringement lawsuit against Chinese firm Changzhou Jinpex
Electronics.Fellowes’ suit alleges that Jinpex has infringed Fellowes’
registered European Community design right relating to the design of a
paper shredder throat and Fellowes’ unregistered European Community
design right relating to the company’s recently introduced shredder
designs.The suit also alleges unfair competition against Jinpex because
of misrepresentation of origin, exploitation of Fellowes’ reputation
and design piracy based on the use of disingenuously obtained know-how.A
hearing on all charges is scheduled for 4 November 2008 in Frankfurt,
Germany.In the suit Fellowes seeks to have Jinpex immediately stop the
distribution, importation and sale of their allegedly infringing
products. Fellowes is also seeking monetary damages.
