HP gags bloke in spying row
    Don’t mention Dell
January 2007, A BLOKE who claimed that HP gave him lots of cash to arrange a spying operating against Dell has had a restraining order placed on him.Karl Kamb is being sued by HP for running a rival television company while working for the maker of printer ink. Kamb counter-sued claiming that he had been fired illegally by HP. However, in Kamb’s claim it was revealed that he was behind am HP scheme to get commercial secrets from its rival Dell.According to Cnet, when details of Kamb’s counter suit were made public, HP applied for a restraining order against the former executive.Michael Schneider, the US District Court judge presiding over the case, said that Kamb is free to again file his counter-suit but must not talk about it.The judge was particularly miffed that copies of e-mails between Kamb, other HP employees and the former Dell Japan president who Kamb claims was hired in 2002 to inform HP about Dell’s printer plans were included in the counter-suit.Even though it was eight years before Dell actually released its own printer, the outfit was understandably furious.HP denied all this and says it is all a cunning plan by Kamb to divert attention from its law suit against him.
