Three new Multifunction Devices to Help Clients Maximize Productivity
BOULDER,
CO–june 2006 — IBM introduced three new easy-to-use multifunction
printers (MFPs) designed for maximum productivity. The devices, which
print, copy, scan and fax, are the latest additions to IBM’s
comprehensive MFP lineup. IBM previously unveiled four new models in
February as part of a sweeping update to its portfolio.”We continue to
expand and enhance our office printing portfolio,” said Doug Oathout,
vice president, IBM Printing Systems. “These new models can help
clients consolidate and drive cost out of their distributed output
environment.”The new multifunction devices allow clients to acquire
advanced functions, while replacing older, single function office
equipment. IBM also offers the ability to consolidate maintenance and
supplies with one vendor, which can simplify ongoing operations.
Three
Multifunction Devices Offer Flexibility, Investment ProtectionThe IBM
InfoprintĀ® 1572 is a 50 page per minute (ppm)* MFP that features copy,
print, scan and fax functions located in one convenient device. The
1572 MFP comes standard with three input sources, duplex, finishing,
and furniture. A single-pass duplex automatic document feeder (ADF) can
scan double-sided legal-size documents that are monochrome or color,
and the Infoprint 1572 prints them in black. End users can complete
tasks quickly when they use the vivid 8-inch color touch screen
display. The IBM InfoprintĀ® M40 MFP option provides IBM Infoprint 1552n
and 1572n printers with advanced copy, fax, scan and send capabilities.
The M40 MFP option offers investment protection for owners of the 1552n
and 1572n printers. It includes a variety of innovative features
including “job interrupt” for priority copies. A “custom job build”
feature allows users to combine sheets of paper placed in the ADF with
bound material, such as a book, that has been placed on the legal-sized
platen. “Scan preview” can verify the scan before an e-mail is sent.
The M40 MFP option also includes a hard drive that can help process
jobs faster and provides additional functionality. The IBM InfoprintĀ®
1650 MFP is a 45 ppm* device designed to provide workgroups with
“one-stop” convenience. An intuitive touch screen operator panel allows
users to interrupt jobs for priority copying. The ADF and the
legal-size flatbed scanner handle mixed letter and legal original
sizes. Jobs can be completed quickly, because the Infoprint 1650 MFP
includes a powerful 514 MHz processor and a fast first-page-out time.
It is also easy to fine tune output results with adjustments such as
reduce and enlarge, separator sheets, margin shift, edge erase,
date/time stamp and variable quality settings.
New Models Join IBM’s Stable of Award-Winning Office Printers
IBM’s
office printers were recently recognized by independent test lab BERTL
in their 11th annual printer review — receiving three BERTL’s Best
awards. IBM was awarded “Best Monochrome Printer Range” for its printer
portfolio. BERTL said IBM’s network printers “offer something for
everyone.” In addition, BERTL named the Infoprint 1570 MFP the “Best
Executive Office MFP” and the Infoprint 1580 the “Best 50 to 59 ppm
Monochrome Office MFP.” Both those models were introduced by IBM in
February and are available today. -
