Ingram Micro Q1 profit rise

2006 – Santa Ana (CA): Ingram Micro has posted a Q1 profit rise of 45
per cent, citing strong sales in North America.Net income rose to $61.7
million, or EPS of $0.36, from $42.4 million, or EPS of $0.26 in 2005.
The results reflect costs of $8 million or $0.03 per share related to
new accounting rules for stock options granted to employees.North
American sales rose 9 per cent and European sales rose 2 per cent.
Ingram Micro launches marketing business

2006 – Santa Ana (CA): Ingram Micro has launched its own marketing
communications agency.The agency will offer marketing, advertising and
public relations.”Two of the biggest challenges facing the IT industry
are consistent channel communications and integrated marketing
efforts,” the company said. “Our goal is to help manufacturers and
solution providers cut through the noise and clearly communicate their
vision, benefits, expertise and services in today’s commoditised,
over-hyped sales environment.”
