Kodak AIO Uses 5-Ink Cartridge System
Kodak’s new all-in-one device, the ESP 5, uses a two-cartridge, pigmented ink system that consists of one black cartridge, and a five-ink colour cartridge that cost $9.99 and $14.99 each, respectively to replace. The printer itself, which is available for an MSRP of $169.99, offers print, scan, and copy capabilities in a small design. It comes equipped with a 3” colour LCD, and memory card and USB slots for easy printing without the use of a PC. “Kodak is delivering on its promise to end ink profiteering and to bring people affordable, premium ink with the introduction of the new Kodak ESP 5 all-in-one printer,” said Randy Brody, Worldwide Marketing Director, Inkjet Systems at Eastman Kodak Company. “Kodak says that its printers were recently tested at the well-respected Wilhelm Imaging Research (WIR) testing labs, and the company’s AIOs and premium pigment-based inks reportedly achieved the “highest level of overall print permanence of any consumer desktop printer system tested by the firm.” WIR gave Kodak’s album/dark storage a rating of greater than 125 years. For more information, visit http://www.kodak.ca.
