Kodak inkjets Europe-bound
Company will sell new printers in United Kingdom, Germany

2007) — Eastman Kodak Co. has signed deals with British and German
electronics retailers to offer its new all-in-one inkjet printers in
the United Kingdom and Germany.Beginning in June, DSG International plc
will offer the printers exclusively at its PC World, Currys and Currys
digital outlets in the U.K. Media-Saturn Group will offer the printers
at its Media Markt and Saturn chains in Germany.The deals are the first
international marketing arrangements for Kodak’s new home inkjet line.
Kodak has been offering the machines exclusively at U.S. Best Buy
stores since mid-March.”In Media Markt and Saturn, we have gained two
market leaders who can both actively support the introduction of our
new printing system and guarantee nationwide distribution.” Andreas
Lippert, general manager of Kodak Germany, said in a statement.Kodak
launched the home printers claiming they could provide stellar quality
at savings of up to 50 percent over other inkjet printers. The company
hopes to grab a share of the $50 billion market for home printers, inks
and other supplies.
Kodak announces UK supplier for printer range

for its range of inkjet printers.Launched in the US in February 2007,
the new range of printers are to be made available to UK consumers in
June through DSG International (DSGI).The deal with DSGI – better known
in the UK as Dixons – is an exclusive arrangement.In the US, the
printer range is available only through Best Buy.”We dedicate
considerable resources to identifying original new products for our
outlets and we believe the Kodak Easyshare all-in-one printers … have a
pioneering quality which will appeal to our customers,” said Peter
Duncombe, buying director, DSGI.In addition to consumer products, which
may be utilised by users of HP office paper and Lexmark printer
cartridges, Kodak is also a manufacturer of dental and medical imaging
solutions.
