Kodak plans to sell 500,000 inkjet printers this calendar year
(April 2007) — Eastman Kodak Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Antonio Perez said today the company wants to sell 500,000 of its new inkjet printers in 2007.Perez made the comments during a visit by U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., to a plant in Greece that produces ink and internal parts for the printer. If Kodak hits that target, that would mean at least $75 million in new sales for the company. The company has launched the printers, which it says produces top quality at half the cost of traditional ink cartridges as a way to inject new life into sales.During his tour, Schumer called the inkjet printers line, “one of Kodak’s and the area’s great hopes.”
