Konica Minolta Deal to Supply HP with Digital Multifunction Copier Engines from Canadian Perspective Toronto, ON – Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada), Ltd. believes the recent Deal that will see Konica Minolta supply Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) with digital multifunction copier engines, is a positive sign of things to come.
“We felt from the beginning that the Konica Minolta merger would result in new technologies and more competitive products being brought into the Canadian office automation marketplace,” says Don Davis, President of Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada), Ltd. “We believe that we produce some of the finest copier products available. HP’s endorsement of Konica Minolta’s digital multifunction copier engines is a testament to that belief.”
Under terms of the agreement, Konica Minolta will supply digital multifunction copier engines together with options and supply materials that have been customized to meet HP’s networking environment. The copiers will be integrated with HP’s original controller and software before being shipped to market. Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc., a new business unit formed by the merger of Konica and Minolta will begin shipping the units this fall.
Konica Minolta anticipates that first year sales from this agreement will generate C$119 million. That figure is expected to rise to approximately C$1.2 billion by the year 2006.
