    KONICA MINOLTA BUSINESS SOLUTIONS U.S.A. NAMES STEPHEN T. JONES EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT U.S. DEALER SALES
     Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. on Friday announced that Stephen (Steve) T. Jones Has been named executive vice president, Konica Minolta U.S. dealer sales. Jones, who previously served as senior vice president, Konica U.S. dealer sales, will assume his new position immediately, and will continue to report directly to Yasuo Matsumoto, president and CEO.

    In his new role, Jones will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and effective transition of Konica Minolta’s dealers — a group of approximately 700 dealers that were brought together as a result of the merger of Konica Business Technologies U.S.A, Inc. and Minolta Corporation’s Business Products Group in October 2003 — into an integrated channel. Jones’ primary goals are to form a united dealer channel, ensuring that each of the legacy channels receives proper representation and support; and achieving increased dealer revenue through the sale of the company’s production print, color and solutions technology. In addition, he will be helping to streamline and strengthen the sales, service and administrative processes that support the dealer channel; and educate the dealers regarding current and future Konica Minolta products and solutions, as well as company direction.

    Jones joined Konica three years ago to develop and implement a color product strategy and surrounding sales effort. In April 2003, Jones succeeded Richard (Dick) Peterson as senior vice president, U.S. dealer sales, and was responsible for the continued growth of Konica’s dealer community. Prior to Konica, Jones was vice president, sales, for Sharp Electronics Corporation, where he led the U.S. sales efforts for the company’s color products along with its commercial copier and fax technology lines. In addition to his experience at Sharp, Jones was director of color operations worldwide at Xerox, handling the design and management of color and digital products sales and marketing initiatives.

    “During the past year, Steve has successfully managed Konica’s dealer sales operations, achieving both sales and growth objectives. Steve has proven that he has the knowledge and skills to solidify the Konica Minolta dealer organization and turn it into the strongest dealer channel in the industry,” said Yasuo Matsumoto, president and CEO, Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc.
