Kyocera Delivers New Printer Systems for the Large Workgroup/Enterprise

Kyocera Mita America, one of the world’s leading document imaging companies, today launched two new models to the company’s line of cost-effective, network reliable and user-friendly monochrome printers. The new FS-9120DN, positioned to meet the needs of the large workgroup and the FS-9520DN, suited well for the enterprise environment, both deliver fast warm-up times, a high number of pages per minute, large upgradeable memory and additional finishing options for print jobs.

Designed to serve the needs of medium to large enterprise, the FS-9520DN features a 500 MHz central- processing unit and 64 MB of standard memory (upgradeable to 576 MB) for impressive performance and fast handling. It warms up within 25 seconds and prints 51 letter-sized pages per minute. The FS- 9120DN, designed for mid- and large-sized organizations, has a 400 MHz CPU and 32 MB of standard memory (upgradeable to 544 MB). Its 25- second warm-up time is industry competitive and prints 36 letter-sized pages per minute.

“Businesses must work hard to stay competitive and profitable in today’s economic environment. With our cost-effective, reliable monochrome printers we strive to provide customers with the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) over the life of our products,” said Michael Pietrunti, vice president marketing, Kyocera Mita America. “Not only do our newest printers combine impressive print speed and excellent image quality, they also employ a 500,000-image drum and 40,000-image toner container. This translates into considerable cost-savings – possibly saving an organization thousands of dollars in printing costs over the life of the printer. It’s what we mean by, ‘Work hard. Print smart’.”

The FS-9120DN and FS-9520DN printers incorporate Kyocera’s cartridge-free ECOSYS® printer technology, which allows toner to be replenished in the unit without disposal of the print drum. This not only cuts down on the amount of waste material but also reduces toner replacement costs by two thirds compared to other laser printers in this class. Both models print documents at an average cost of roughly 0.3 cents per print, compared to as much as 0.8 to 1.9 cents per page for other comparable printers. Also, the FS-9120DN and FS-9520DN are covered by a one-year warranty and three-year drum guarantee – significantly longer protection than other comparable printer vendors currently offer.

Kyocera printers yield a TCO that is up to 50 percent lower than comparable products, as validated by ARS, Inc., a competitive market intelligence analysis company. Customers can view the comparisons for themselves by using the Kyocera “TCO Tracker,” a free, Web-based application that incorporates third-party analyst research to help CFOs track spending, and show how their companies can significantly reduce costs over time. Availability and Pricing: The FS-9120DN and FS-9520DN printers are available through authorized Kyocera Mita resellers and independent dealers at an estimated street price of $2,720 for the FS-9120DN and $3,500 for the FS-9520DN.
