Lexmark Introduces Affordable Z2420 with High Yield Ink
Lexmark
has just introduced the Z2420 printer that includes wireless,
Accu-feed technology that Lexmark claims to virtually eliminate paper
jams, and claimed print speeds of up to 25 ppm for black and up to 18
ppm for color. The printer also has an optional second set of high
yield ink that Lexmark claims will produce cheaper prints.
The
Lexmark Z2420 includes built-in 802.11g/b WiFi for wireless printing.
While little information is given about the Accu-feed technology
feature of the printer, Lexmark claims it’s a special paper handling
system that nearly eliminates paper jams and misfeeds. The scheduled
print feature allows print request to be scheduled for printing at a
later time; useful if you want to print out a big document, but don’t
want to tie up the office printer for an extended time.
Lexmark
claims the Z2420 is capable of producing resolutions as high as 1200 x
1200 dpi in black and as high as 4800 x 1200 dpi in color. An
interesting option the Z2420 has available is high yield ink catridges,
which Lexmark claims with produce cheaper prints. Lexmark claims the
optional high yield ink cartridges contain double the ink of the
standard models, so each cartridge can produce double the number of
prints. Both black and color cartridges are available, and Lexmark
claims the ink produces business quality text and produces sharper
blacks. The Lexmark Z2420 is able to print on a variety of papers
including photo and transparency, as well. The Lexmark Z2420 is
currently available for purchase for $79.99.
